Students in Form 3 had a wonderful experience during their French Department trip to the city of Lyon. Over the course of four days, they explored the charming old town and enjoyed a diverse itinerary designed for them. In addition to sightseeing, they discovered Lyon’s rich history in the silk trade at the Maison des Canuts. This venue serves as both a museum and a workshop, preserving and celebrating the proud legacy of silk production in Lyon.

The trip also featured visits to the Musée de l’Illusion and the Gadagne building. The Gadagne building stands as one of Lyon’s architectural treasures, representing the historical district recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is also the largest public building in Vieux Lyon.

Of course, students took the opportunity to practice their French speaking skills while exploring the city, placing orders in cafés and restaurants, and during their leisure time as they searched for souvenirs.
