This month we welcomed school inspectors from NIS to Kensington. NIS is the inspectorate service for NABSS, (National Association of British Schools in Spain) responsible for inspecting British schools across Spain and making recommendations for authorisation to the British Council, which in turn informs the Spanish Ministry of Education.

Following this process, we are delighted to inform you that the school has been awarded the highest possible recommendation—approval for a full four-year period.

The inspection process is conducted in two stages. Initially, the school submits a comprehensive range of documentation, including curriculum plans, policies, and information relating to teaching, learning and staffing. This is followed by a full-day visit, during which time inspectors observe lessons, meet with staff, members of the leadership team and in some cases, pupils and representatives of the School Council.

The final report evaluates all aspects of school life, including History and Context, Accommodation and Resources, Health, Safety and Welfare, the Curriculum, Staffing, Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development, and Leadership and Management. It concludes with a set of recommendations to guide the school in the period leading up to the next inspection.

We are delighted to share this report with you now. We are particularly pleased that it contains no significant recommendations, reflecting the strength of the provision across the school. This outcome is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our staff, who work tirelessly to ensure the highest standards for our pupils.
