Kensington School go to Iceland!

IGCSE and A Level Geography students recently spent five action packed days in Iceland - the land of fire and ice!

Nicknamed the geographer's playground, students were able to see a spectacular show of geographical features including volcanoes, sprawling lava fields, stunning waterfalls and impressive canyons. The students rode Icelandic ponies and were fascinated by the hotsprings at Geysir.

They were taught how to use basic ice equipment before exploring the frozen glacier tongue of Sólheimajökull - a wonder of ice sculptures and deep crevasses.

The trip ended with a relaxing visit to the geothermal pools at the Blue Lagoon, before heading to the beautiful city of Reykjavik.
