Kensington School and Mallorca International School join forces!

Mallorca International School is a British curriculum school in the north of Mallorca, where Executive Head, Duncan Giles has been serving as Headteacher in an acting capacity until the end of this academic year.

Collaboration between colleagues is a key aspect of professional development and both schools are keen to find ways to work together and support one another. A first step towards this was taken on March 31st, when staff from Kensington School travelled to the island to deliver a series of workshops and have one-to-one meetings with the teaching staff there.

Ms Canwell, Ms Ruiz, Mr. Mellon and Sra Moreno led the Kensington School delegation and met with their counterparts in the Maths, Science, History and Spanish departments.

This collaboration between both schools should facilitate the sharing of ideas, strategies for learning and making the most of common resources. Mallorca International School is in an exciting period of growth, with the opening of its Sixth Form in September 2022, the support that Kensington School will provide will be invaluable to secure eventual success for Year 13 students there.

Head of Spanish department, Silvia Rodriguez thought the day was very useful. ‘It has been an amazing experience, we have learnt so much and shared great ideas’. Both schools will now work to find further areas of collaboration and Kensington School looks forward to welcoming these and other colleagues to Barcelona in the near future.
