‘House and Homes’ inspired by Antoni Gaudí
J1 are learning about ‘Houses and Homes’ this term and part of the project this half term, was studying the work of Antoni Gaudi.
Students looked at the way he used tiles and mosaics called trencadis, as well as inspiration from nature, to make his work more exciting and colourful.
They used this to create their own "Gaudi" style house which is displayed outside their classroom.
To continue with their Gaudi theme, they went on a wonderful trip to Casa Batlló, where they used interactive tablets to be transported back in time.
Finally, they made colourful mosaic inspired costumes for Carnival based on Casa Batlló. This has all tied with their ‘House and Homes’ topic.
