Kensington School believes that learning does not take place solely in the classroom and organises a series of events and trips to further enrich students’ experience at school.

Most subject areas arrange trips, with a number of these being residential. Barcelona has a wealth of opportunities for students to enhance their learning and these take place as early as our Nursery class and continue until the Sixth Form.

Junior School students will often visit local areas of interest and key city landmarks, all linked to specific areas of the curriculum.

In the Senior School, the artistic, architectural and musical heritage of the city is particularly useful for our creative subjects and it is not uncommon for students in subjects such as Art or Music to visit the Miró, Picasso or Palau de la Musica museums in the city or tour the Eixample enjoying examples of modernist architecture that the city is rightly famed for.

All students also benefit from frequent visits to the school from authors, musicians and professional sporting teams and individuals who often provide workshops and deliver inspirational talks.

There are a number of residential trips arranged by different departments, with students visiting Paris, Lyon, London and Bath in recent years. The school organises activity weeks to promote team building in the summer term. There is also an annual ski trip to the nearby Pyrennees and a Summer Camp where students go on a 4 day adventure filled with plenty of fun and challenging activities.

Sixth Form students are encouraged to sign up to the Barcelona Model United that is held towards the end of November every year. In addition to this, our students have acted as delegates at similar events in Lisbon and Milan.
