What did the Romans ever do for us?

April 26, 2025

J3 have been learning about the Romans as part of their humanities studies.

They were very excited to visit the Roman museum in Badalona to find evidence of the ancient Roman Empire right here on our doorstep. As they explored the ruins underneath the museum they could see the public bath house. Walking above the original roads on transparent ramps they observed the remains of shops taverns and insulae – poor Roman’s town houses.

A short walk from the museum took them to adomus – a rich Roman’s town house. They saw all the different rooms with examples of Roman furniture and mosaics. On the walk, the guide, Lidia, indicated where the temple would have been– there is now a church in its place and where the forum would have been. Lidia was very impressed with the pupils’ knowledge and curiosity to find out more.
