The Form 3 visit to Lyon provided students with a valuable opportunity to experience one of France’s most culturally rich and historically significant cities. Situated in the southeast of the country, Lyon is renowned for its distinctive architecture, vibrant heritage, and celebrated culinary tradition.

Throughout the trip, students explored a range of important landmarks, including Vieux Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site characterised by its narrow streets and Renaissance façades. They also visited the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where they were able to appreciate panoramic views of the city, while deepening their understanding of Lyon’s historical importance, particularly in relation to the silk industry.

The programme combined academic and cultural enrichment, with visits to museums, opportunities to sample traditional French cuisine, and practical use of the French language.
