Junior 5 Visit Disseny Hub Barcelona

Junior 5 attended a workshop at the Disseny Hub Barcelona in Glòries. The students took part in the two-hour workshop, ‘(Im)possible Silhouettes’, within the exhibition ‘The Dressed Body’, before exploring other areas of the museum. This focued on Christian Dior’s 1947 ‘New Look’ collection and compared this to the ‘make do and mend’ philosophy prevalent during the war years. The session was led by the museum guides and supported by Mrs Crumpton and Miss Rebecca.

The workshop linked to our Design and Technology curriculum, focusing on the cultural impact and changes in fashion before and after World War II. It gave students the opportunity to apply skills in product research and evaluation, while developing a critical understanding of how design influences daily life and the wider world.

The trip provided a rich, hands-on experience, bringing classroom learning to life.
