J5 and J6 visit MercaBarna

Students visited Mercabarna and attended its “5 a Day” exhibition. The students had a lovely day touring the market, where they learned about fruits and vegetables, healthy eating, and the importance of food provenance.

The visit also provided a unique insight into how a large food distribution centre operates, from logistics to quality control. As part of the experience, the students practised their Catalan language skills during interactions with local guides and vendors, enriching their cultural understanding. Afterwards, we were treated to a fresh salad and fruit for dessert, and everyone received a bag of potatoes to take home! — a perfect end to an enjoyable and educational day.
