The children had a wonderful hands-on experience getting up close and personal with the bees. The bee keeper, Eric, was a very passionate man, he clearly loves what he does!

Students were told that honey bees are no longer wild and without these bee hives, honey bees would slowly die out. The children were taught about how we should never be scared of bees, a message which Eric wants to promote.

When they had their protective clothing on, they were able to be amongst the bees, see the eggs hatch and watch the bees make the pollen.
This visit tied in very nicely with the end of term production, ‘The Bee Musical’.
