“Found”

Form 5 GCSE Fine Art students recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to the heart of Barcelona, exploring MEAM (Museu Europeu d’Art Modern), MACBA (Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona), and Museu Frederic Marès. The trip provided valuable first-hand visual research for their Component 2 ESA examination project, themed “Found.” Students completed extensive observational drawings, responding to a wide range of artworks, artefacts, and contemporary installations. From the expressive realism at MEAM to the thought-provoking contemporary works at MACBA and the rich historical collections at Museu Frederic Marès, students were inspired by a diverse range of artists, cultures, and creative practices to inform their developing final piece ideas.
