Upon arrival, the students were treated to a visit to the Spa Museum, followed by a guided walk around the town’s pedestrianised area. This picturesque setting, enriched with history and culture, offered the perfect backdrop for our young learners.
One of the highlights of the trip was exploring the ancient Roman baths. These historic baths, located at the foot of the mountain called El Farell, are situated in a geological fault zone that facilitates the emergence of hot thermal springs. With water temperatures soaring to 76ºC, these springs are among the hottest in Europe. The students marvelled at the numerous fountains dispensing hot thermal water and participated in a traditional cloth-washing activity in the old laundry area.
This immersive experience directly connected with the history and science topics covered during the Spring term, helping to bring classroom learning to life. By walking through the ancient baths and engaging in hands-on activities, our students gained a deeper understanding of the historical and geological significance of Caldes de Montbui.
