Junior 4 and 5 Catalan students went on an exciting trip to the Mercat de la Boqueria, one of Barcelona’s most iconic locations. This excursion proved to be a fantastic experience for everyone involved, as they explored the diverse range of products available at the famous market and engaged in conversations with some of the vendors.
After a brief tour, they made their way to the kitchen to apply their culinary skills. With the assistance of Maria, the nutritionist who joined them for the day, they prepared a traditional “potatge de vigília” (typical for the Easter season) as well as two delightful variations of strawberries (one with chocolate and another with vinegar and sugar).
The students fully engaged in the cooking process, chopping, stirring, and relishing the spirit of teamwork. This was a wonderful opportunity to deepen their understanding of the local gastronomy while also picking up new Catalan vocabulary related to ingredients and cooking techniques.
