In recent years, the National Poetry Day Poetry Recital Competition has become something of a tradition at Kensington.
Each year, students write their own poem or find a well-known poem linked to the theme of the year and recite it in the hope of winning a coveted prize. Back in the happy past, we would gather in the school theatre for live recitals which were always a vibrant and often a raucous affair.
But last year, we instead invited participants to make a video recording of themselves reciting a poem, and this led to some quite beautiful and moving pieces of multimedia art being created.
This year, we again invite students to enter the competition by creating a video recital. The theme of the year is CHOICE, a theme selected by the UK organisers of the national event.
Video entries should be emailed to Ms Coffey, Ms Hewitt, or Mr Voller, no later than 9am on Monday 4th October to be considered for the prize.
