Junior 3 Study the structure of Earth as part of their ‘Rocks and Soils’ topic in Science

Students went on a trip to Caldes de Montbui, a town with numerous hot springs where mineral water comes out of the fountains at a temperature of 74ºC.

Caldes de Montbui has become, over the course of history, a destination not only for those in search of their curative properties but also those looking for rest and recreation. Students discovered the historical features of the town. They learnt that this was a town where Romans had once settled and were amazed to see a Roman bath house still standing in the town.

They enjoyed a fun activity when they visited an old, public outdoor laundry area where they each got the chance to wash a neckerchief using soap in the warm (50ºC) mineral water.

Great fun was had by everyone and the visit successfully consolidated the learning that had already taken place in the classroom.
