A Level Art students visit the Antoni Clavé retrospective

Upper Sixth Fine Art A Level students have been exploring the work of Antoni Clavé, one of the most important Catalan and Spanish artists of the 20th century. Often described as a “total artist,” Clavé mastered an impressive range of disciplines—painting, sculpture, printmaking, set design, and poster art —bringing them together through a distinctive and personal visual language. His lifelong curiosity and willingness to experiment with materials, space, and form made his work both innovative and influential.

Clavé’s creative journey, from his early training in Barcelona to international recognition in post-war Paris, offered our students a rich source of inspiration as they develop their own artistic identities.
