Kensington School took part once again in the ‘Masters Championship Trophy’ sponsored by Volkswagen. The event was held on Sunday 19th April at the ‘Agora International School’ in Sant Cugat and boasted participants from both Spanish and international schools with a notable presence of fellow BISA members.
Our students, who despite some impressive performances in the run-up to the tournament were unable to find their winning form on the day.
The first match of the tournament was against the ‘Escola Jesuitas’ from Bellvtge and ended with a 3-2 defeat. Sadly, results did not improve for the Kensingtonians and match 2 of the day saw the school team underperform with a 3-1 defeat to the ‘Escola Thau, Sant Cugat’. With all hopes of making the next round now exhausted, our players were unable to challenge the home team, ‘Agora International School’. The local boys looked strong with a 3-0 tally.
So, despite our best efforts, Kensington exited the tournament in the group stages. We hope that the school team enjoyed the experience and welcomed the challenge of competing against such experienced and successful teams. We look forward to the 2016 tournament, the knock-out stages and a renewed challenge for the trophy.
We would also like to thank all the parents who took the time to support the school team, their presence was much appreciated. Similarly, thanks to Mrs. Khan who was able to provide the many photographs of the event – these will follow shortly.
The school team was made up of:
Junior 6: Sasha (GK), Claudio (1), Marco, Oskar and Mark
Form 1: Robin (GK) Jonata (C)(2), Alex, and Henry
