A student led initiative by the School Council has seen the launch on Monday May 6th of the ‘Recycling Programme at Kensington’. The school site now has 3 specific recycling points as well as a number of recycling bins dotted around the school. Initially only paper and plastic (incl. cans, bottles, tin foil, etc ) will be recycled as these have the highest volume. During Phase 2 at the start of next academic year, we hope to start recycling compostable/organic materials too. The School Office has been recycling paper for some time, and there was a paper bin on each floor already. The Office has also been recycling printer toners since last June. Here you can see the School Council Recycling Sub-Committee, led by Greta Portone (Form 3), with a set of the new recycling bins.
