On Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th of December the Junior School organised their Christmas concert. Pupils in the Nursery and Reception performed the poem ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’ attributed to the poet, Clement Clarke Moore. Pupils sang and acted out the many roles within the verses and members of the audience were privileged to meet Santa Claus himself.
Junior 3 and 4 pupils sang a collection of contemporary Christmas carols and clearly enjoyed the Christmas crackers! ‘What do snowmen eat for lunch? Ice Burgers!!’
Finally, pupils in Junior 5 and 6 were able to share with parents and guests their rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine. Students had recorded a version of the song as part of their celebration of the International Day of Human Rights on December 10th. The video was played to the audience and pupils accompanied it with a live performance of the iconic song.
This was a wonderful finale to two mornings of music and mirth. Many thanks to all the boys and girls who took part, the class teachers who made sure all lines were learnt and all costumes ready and to all the parents who supported this annual event. Finally, thanks to Mr. Steve Evans for his hard work coordinating the Christmas show.
Many thanks as well to Mrs. Gous who kindly opened up her home for J5 and J6 students to use her garden to record their video of ‘Imagine’ and to the K-Parents for their kind offer of refreshments on both days.
